Project summary :

Water and Energy Nexus for Sustainable Development (WEN4SD) is a project for Erasmus Mundus Design Measures programme. WEN4SD brings together three internationally renowned universities to reflect their expertise in higher education to design an innovative Master programme and prepare it to be internationally validated. The project grounds the design of the new program in the best practices for sustainable development education across Mediterranean countries to solve multiple challenges. It will establish and deepen a strategic partnership for higher education in managing Water/Energy nexus for sustainable development in Mediterranean regions. Managing water and energy for sustainable development requires knowledge on using technological expertise in designing suitable solutions for society and strategic expertise in policy making and change management. However, stakeholders currently lack combined knowledge from all perspectives, on how to strategically drive and operationally implement sustainable solutions for water and energy needs. WEN4SD project proposes a new joint Master program which will ensure later learning for students and training for academic and administrative staff. WEN4SD project, led by a coordinator team at University Polytechnic of Valencia (UPV), will foster cooperation on a Mediterranean level between the higher education institutions, industry and training providers and authorities to develop a strategy to make the education and training for water and energy solutions for sustainable development managing
